A legend..

Joy division. Possibly the most underrated
band ever who changed the face of music.
Ian Curtis, wrote such beautiful songs and
in clips of him at gigs that I have seen, he
delivers so much and really intrigues the
audience. Vocally, his voice is filled with
emotion and fiery intention, its such a shame
that artists like Ian Curtis are rare today,
most of the music we hear is so processed
and meaningless, it lacks that raw sound
that Joy division created.

the music lives on..

Yesterday it was John Lennon's 70th birthday,
so this blog is dedicated to his life that revolutionized music
. A great musician and the best lyricist of our time, definitely a star
not to be forgotten.

Music's uprising artist, I blame coco.

I blame coco, recently released her
debut album The constant, and its another
album I think i'm going to become obsessed
with. Her music's very relevant and modern
almost like fresh air to the music industry.
Despite all the fuss about her at the moment,
she seems very humble and bemused by it
all, I think thats what I love about her that
and her individual style.
She's going to be BIIIIG.

Sweet junkie boy

Mostly known for heroin and Kate moss but what about his music, its no one other than Pete Doherty. I'm definitely a 'Groupie'
when it comes to The Libertines, no one does it better. Pete is so raw, and unpolished but he pulls it off with that British attitude,
he's one of the best lyricists of my generation and has shaped
British indy rock culture for new artists.Yes, he maybe a total
junkie but if you judge him purely on his music and not what you read in the papers, you'll see he's truly a great artist.

He always looks so charismatic on stage, and when Carl and Pete came together at this year's Reading festival, it was so euphoric. The crowd where so out of control, and during 'Time for heroes' The Libertines were forced to leave stage, but minutes later came back and blew away the crowd. Here's Carl and Pete..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZvuoWAXLe4c

La Machine

I don't think there is anything this girl can't do,
covering artists like Fleetwood Mac,Candi Staton and
Robert palmer, and making each song sound like her
own, I can't wait till her next album. Actually, I don't
think i've ever got bored of 'Lungs' Best album of this
decade. I admire her so much.

Dev aka Lightspeed Champion.
He has helped so many Artists get
where they are today, definitely
deserves a lot of credit. I would love
to see him live, roll up at Glastonbury Dev?

   I love Chrystal Castle's,
they have such
 an iconic sound.
A little weird.. but brilliant.

This is The Drums, i love how this
band reinvent a great era of music
yet make it sound relevant and modern.
I no longer hear the music when the lights
go out

My very first 'Glasto'

Next year, i shall pop my Glastonbury cherry! I'm going with my four lovely bestfriends, in a little retro camper van. I'm so excited, i've always wanted to go because the thing that i love about Glastonbury without sounding like a cliche, everyone is in it together, to have nothing but a good time.

There is so many acts i want to see, i'm hoping they don't over lap with each other. Florence and the machine, Kings of Leon, The Libertines (if they play?) Arctic Monkeys, The XX, Arcade Fire, Jarvis Cocker,Paolo Nutini and I've also heard rumours that Radiohead are playing which would be amazing.I expect U2 shall play this year (If they don't pull out again) and to be honest, i'm not too keen on U2, infact i think they're completely over rated. The music isn't that clever, and well.. Bono's big ego drags the band down.

Arcade Fire, The surburbs verdict.

I NEED this album. Its an amazing piece of work, and i was surprised as i didn't think it would reach the expectations of their past work. In particular the album 'Funeral' is definately one of my favourites, but this album is simply beautiful. My favourite tracks are 'Ready to start' and 'The suburbs' the lyrics are genuis. I seen clips of them play at Reading this year, and when this band come together and perform live its so intense. Definately one's to look out for..
